Expanding Access to Dental Care and Pharmacare

We believe that every Canadian deserves access to quality health care, regardless of where they live or their financial situation. Our commitment to revitalizing public health care is centered on ensuring it meets the needs of all Canadians. Here’s how we’re making that happen, with a focus on dental care and pharmacare:

Delivering National Universal Pharmacare

We’re introducing National Universal Pharmacare to make essential medications more affordable for everyone. Our plan will benefit 9 million Canadians, making contraceptives free and providing 3.7 million Canadians with access to diabetes medication. This ensures that all Canadians can access the medications they need, no matter where they live or their financial circumstances.

Expanding Access to Dental Care

Oral health is a critical component of overall health. That’s why we’ve rolled out the Canadian Dental Care Plan, ensuring that over 9 million Canadians—including children under 18, seniors 65 and over, and adults with a valid disability tax credit — have access to essential dental care. This expansion of dental care coverage is reducing out-of-pocket expenses for families and improving the health outcomes of millions of Canadians.

How to Access It: Eligible Canadians can access dental care services through registered dental providers participating in the Canadian Dental Care Plan. Details on coverage and how to apply can be found here.

The Conservative Track Record

The Conservatives have consistently put public health care at risk, advocating for cuts that would make it more difficult for Canadians to access the care they deserve. When pressed by reporters about his stance on dismantling Liberal pharmacare, Pierre Poilievre avoided the question. While Poilievre and his party push for deep cuts that threaten essential services and undermine the middle class, Justin Trudeau and our Liberal team remain focused on bolstering public health care and reducing the cost of living—especially for families here in Oakville.
