The Oakville East Federal Liberal Association is a dedicated group of local volunteers committed to supporting the re-election of our candidate, Anita Anand. As a vital part of the Liberal Party's grassroots network, the association plays a crucial role in engaging with our community, organizing events, and mobilizing voters.There are many ways to get involved, whether it’s door-to-door canvassing, making phone calls, or attending our upcoming events.   • Chair

    Jeffrey S. Percival is a lawyer with 20 years of experience in management-side labour & employment and commercial litigation matters.

    His practice focuses on employer advising and commercial litigation, including WSIB/WSIAT matters, fiduciary-related litigation, product liability, professional liability, construction litigation, contractual disputes, and labour arbitrations. Jeffrey’s proactive approach and deep understanding of legal intricacies make him a valuable asset to our community.     Jeff has been a volunteer for the Liberal Party for over 10 years and an OEFLA Board member for 5 years.

  • Vice-Chair

    Peter has been a lawyer for over 30 years, practicing in the area of civil litigation.  His work focuses primarily on corporate commercial as well as family law litigation.  His work has been primarily aimed at helping clients in the Region of Halton and the Region of Peel, but has also extended to other jurisdictions across Southern Ontario.

    Peter has been a volunteer for the Liberal Party for many, many years, and has been a member of the OFLA (now OEFLA) Board since 2019.

  • Secretary

    Haley is a communications professional with 6 years of experience. She is currently a Senior Communications Advisor to the President of the Treasury Board, Anita Anand.

    Haley previously worked as the Manager of Communications and Community Engagement for Anita Anand in her role as Member of Parliament for Oakville. She has also worked in communications at the Halton District School Board, Arterra Wines Canada, and PRAXIS Public Relations.

    Haley has won three BRAVO awards from the Canadian Association of Communicators in Education (CACE). She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Poltical Science from the University of Guelph in 2019.

    Haley has been a volunteer for the Liberal Party for 3 years and an OEFLA Board member since April, 2024.

  • Policy Chair

    Stephen is a science professional with over 25 years of experience, specialized in chemistry.

    Stephen has been a volunteer for the Liberal Party for over 15 years and an OEFLA Board member for 10 years.

  • Organization Chair

    John is currently a Senior Managing Director of OMERS Infrastructure.  In this role he is responsible for leading a number of strategic initiatives that advance OMERS global Infrastructure agenda.  John has held a number of senior management roles within OMERS Infrastructure and OMERS Private Markets since he started with OMERS in 2005.

    John is active with several investments and is, or has been, on the board and/or on board committees of numerous investments, including Bruce Power, LifeLabs, DynaLife, Teranet and Alectra.  Prior to joining OMERS, John was senior legal counsel at Bombardier Transportation, where he advised on the pursuit of new transit projects around the globe, including Greece, South Korea, the U.K., Canada and the U.S.  John began his career at Torys LLP.

    John holds an Honours BA (Economics) from University of Western Ontario, and an MBA and LL.B. from University of Ottawa.

  • Treasurer

    Terry Quinn is the owner of Quinn Consulting Group, where he leverages his extensive experience as a business advisor and board member to guide companies toward success. With a deep understanding of the corporate landscape, Terry serves on the boards of three different companies, including one publicly traded entity, where he plays a crucial role in shaping strategic decisions.

    Terry's expertise extends to mergers and acquisitions, where he acts as an advisor, bringing valuable insights to complex transactions. From 1982 to 1993, he was the owner and shareholder of a major mechanical industrial contractor that served eastern Canada from Quebec, a role that honed his leadership skills and industry knowledge.

    Before founding his consulting group, Terry gained invaluable experience as a field engineer and project manager for a major global engineering construction company. His work took him across the globe, living and working in several countries, which provided him with a unique perspective on international business operations.

    Terry has been a volunteer for the Liberal Party for over 20 years and an OEFLA Board member for 15 years.

    Heather is a dedicated volunteer who continues to support the OEFLA  through her unwavering commitment.

  • Director

    David Wieler grew up in Oakville and returned in 2004 after a twenty year absence, living in Winnipeg, Montreal, and Germany during that time. With training in both the sciences and management, David has owned and run a number of design and manufacturing businesses. His latest endeavour focuses on providing furnishings to the hospitality market.

    Married with two adult children, David has been active in the Liberal party for many years, and has been a board member since 2012.

    Julie is a dedicated volunteer who continues to support the OEFLA  through her unwavering commitment.  

    Julie has been a volunteer for the Liberal Party for over 10 years and an OEFLA Board member for 5 years.

    Yvette is currently the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Mall Maverick, a marketing-technology software company and the Founder & Sr. Advisor at EMDigital, a search and socials digital agency.

    Yvette holds an MBA from York University’s Schulich School of Business and Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Business Global EMBA program, a certificate in Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma from York University and a Communications Studies degree from the University of Windsor. 

    She is designated as a Charter Marketer by the Canadian Marketing Association, which recognises Canadian's achieving the highest level within the marketing field.  She is also an Adjunct Professor at Sheridan Institute of Technology’s Pilon School of Business, Post Graduate Programs since 2016. 

    Yvette has been a volunteer for the Liberal Party for  over 5 years and an OEFLA Board member since April, 2024.

  • Director

    John is a financial consultant with over 20 years of experience in maintaining financial records, reconciling accounts, and managing payables and receivables.

    Throughout his career, he has worked with various companies, including Diversity Trainers Plus, UR Concierge Services Inc., and Kara Furniture Management, where he has successfully managed financial operations, prepared budgets and forecasts, and identified opportunities for process improvements.

    John holds a Bachelor of Arts from Concordia University and has previously held senior roles in administration and finance, contributing to the effective functioning of operational groups.

    John has been a volunteer for the Liberal Party for over 10 years and an OEFLA Board member for 5 years.

  • Director

    Myah Tomasi has been a part of the Liberal Party since she was 14 years old, and currently serves as the President of the Young Liberals of Canada (Ontario).

    Myah has been an active volunteer in the 2019 and 2021 elections, responsible for digital communications strategies and young volunteer outreach. Myah also served as President of the UOttawa Young Liberals (UOYL) - one of Canada's most active Young Liberal campus clubs. Within the UOYL, she doubled membership, held countless events, and scheduled days of actions.

    Now, as YLCO President, Myah works with campus and riding clubs across Ontario to ensure young people are equipped and energized for the next election. Myah has been an OEFLA Board member since April, 2024.
