Thank you to the voters of Oakville East for your strong support in electing Anita Anand as the first Member of Parliament of this new riding!

Anita will continue to work tirelessly alongside our new government led by Prime Minister Mark Carney to build a stronger Oakville East and a stronger Canada.

What We Stand For

The Oakville East Federal Liberal Association (OEFLA) is a dedicated group of local volunteers committed to supporting our elected candidate, Anita Anand.

  • The Carney government removed all federal barriers to interprovincial trade that unites our country economically and working to rest any talk of separatism from Alberta or Quebec.

This means Oakville East businesses can now sell freely across Canada without red tape, supporting our 9,000+ manufacturing workers and professional services sector.

By building strategic autonomy in energy, food, critical minerals, and finance, Canada can feed itself, fuel itself, and defend itself, creating good-paying jobs right here at home.

  • The Carney government has fast-tracked a trillion dollars of investment in AI, new trade corridors, and critical minerals. For Oakville East, this means supporting Ford Oakville's transformation and securing thousands of advanced manufacturing jobs in our community. We've cut taxes on income for working families and cut taxes on capital gains for business investment. With 12 new trade and security deals signed across four continents in just six months, Oakville's exporters and manufacturers have unprecedented access to global markets.

  • The Canada Child Care Benefit has delivered over $62.3 million directly into the pockets of Oakville families. The Canada Carbon Rebate puts $1,120 per year back in your pocket, while the Canada Worker Benefit helps over 4.2 million Canadian families receive up to $2,461 per year. Our Tax-Free First-Home Savings Account and doubled First Time Home Buyers' Tax Credit are helping young Oakville families enter our housing market and build their futures here.

  • Our Liberal government is investing $15 million federally to combat auto theft, supporting law enforcement agencies across Canada including Halton Regional Police, which serves our community. The $15 million investment, announced in February 2024, helps municipal police forces like Halton Regional Police increase their capacity to recover stolen vehicles and coordinate with border services. Of this funding, $9.1 million supports provincial, territorial, and municipal police forces, while $3.5 million enhances international information sharing to track stolen vehicles.

Halton Regional Police launched a dedicated Regional Auto Theft Task Force in 2023, which recovered almost 400 stolen vehicles in its first four months of operation. This federal investment strengthens these local efforts by providing additional resources and support for ongoing investigations. Beyond the broader $15 million program, Halton Police also received over $1.1 million in March 2025 for innovative auto theft reduction projects.

Halton Police have been actively combating auto theft in our region, including recent investigations that have targeted organized theft rings operating in Oakville and Burlington. These investments provide real resources to protect Oakville East residents from vehicle theft and the organized crime networks behind it.

  • Prime Minister Carney has committed to doubling defence spending by the end of this decade and doing so by building domestic industries that create manufacturing jobs on Canadian soil, not sending our dollars abroad. This means strengthening Arctic sovereignty while creating economic opportunities for northern communities. By investing in Canadian defence capabilities, we're protecting our sovereignty while creating high-skilled jobs that benefit communities like Oakville with our advanced manufacturing expertise.

  • At Davos in January 2026, Prime Minister Carney delivered a speech that positioned Canada as a world leader on the global stage. Publications around the world like The New York Times highlighted his speech for receiving a "rare standing ovation" from global leaders, His message was clear: Canada will chart its own course on artificial intelligence so we maintain our independence from hegemons and hyper-scalers. The respect Canada earns internationally translates directly to stronger trade deals, better investment terms, and more leverage when negotiating on behalf of Oakville workers and businesses. This is how a world leader speaks—and Oakville East benefits from that strength.
